New York Specialist Appointment

I am told by my NY Dr. that I am making progress on the inside of my body even if it doesn’t feel like it. He says that the fact that all my blood-work has come back normal two times in a row that the bacteria has probably stopped attacking my liver. He says this is HUGE! He explained that the Babeosis bacteria is the one that is the worst right now, and that it is attacking my red blood cells and is depriving me of oxygen. He increased my meds and added a new oral antibiotic. I will continue on with the injections until my insurance approves to have a port put in through a minor surgery. Yes, he is ordering an IV. I will have to push the antibiotic everyday for 3 months. After that I am not sure, but he thinks that 9 more months of treatment will do the trick.

Though I am scared of getting the IV I am happy to know that in the next year I am planned to make a full recovery. It means that perhaps I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. He just thinks that to have the IV is the answer and is why I haven’t gotten better thus far. I remain skeptical but have faith.

The new antibiotic has already increased the pain I am having and is making it hard to breath. I think that I am just going to rest until I hear back from the Dr.’s and know what the next step will be.
